Arrived 7/20/2022 with wind turbine blades assisted by Great Lakes Towing's VERMONT got up bright and early to see her arrive . She came in around 7 am after CHARLIE and another ship SLOMAN DISPATCHER departed the night before. This is the 6th ship so far this year with this sort of cargo

The past several years we have had ships delivering wind turbine components here is the most recent CHARLIE owned by dship. She arrived at 10:20 am assisted by Great Lakes Towing's historic tugboat VERMONT.
This isn't the first one . They have been coming here since 2020
This yacht came in around 9 pm . Stopped at Erie Basin Marina departed the next morning . She is currently off Mentor Ohio 7/8/2022
Buffalo's other lighthouse which once guided ships into the Bethlehem Steel Slip. Sporting a new coat of paint as of last year
Saw a couple ships way out on the lake one was Canada Steamship Line's CSL WELLAND The other was a Bulgarian ship named VITOSHA
This is a nearby cottage in the town of Somerset was owned by the Kolarik family of Buffalo NY in the late 1960's and early 1970's they were our neighbors on Wardman Road in Kenmore, nice people. They moved to New Jersey and sold the cottage in either 1972 or 1973. I still like to check on it a couple times a year

On my way home stopped and visited the Babcock Farm on Route 18. Its an old cobblestone house built in the 1840's.
Took a drive up to Golden Hill State Park in Somerset NY on July 3 2022 to visit the Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse . I hoped it would be open for visitors which it was got to tour the keeper's facility and go up to the top of the light tower . Usually I go there in the spring or fall or even winter when everything is closed. Also stopped by a nearby summer cottage once owned by friends of my parents in the early 1970's . It was there I probably had my first ride on a boat.
